Different perforations

Gullfoss 35 aur

 

Gullfoss stamps exist in 4 different types of perforations. They can be hard or even impossible to seperate. A simple way is to have one of each type to compare to the stamp you want to know the perforation. Below is a scheme of the different types and which values can be found, with the different perforations.

Type 1.

Combined perforation.

14 x 13 3/4.

Narrow corner teeth at the left of the horizontal side.

5, 20 and 35 aur.

 

Type 2.

Combined perforation.

14 x 13 3/4.

Normal corner teeth at the left of the horizontal side

5, 20 and 35 aur.

This type was produced as sheeets and as roles for vending mashines. They can be seperated sometimes.

Type 3.

Combined perforation.

14 x 13½.

 

 

Type 4.

Line perforation.

13 3/4 x 13 3/4.

 

5 and 20 aur only from roles. 35, 60, 65 and 75 aur only from sheets.
